Born in 1949, in a small town of Uttar Pradesh, Rakesh K. Mittal graduated from the University of Roorkee (now Indian Institutes of Technology), in Mechanical Engineering, in 1970. He had a brilliant academic career and topped the university from entrance to final examination. He also won several awards in the field of sports and other extra-curricular activities. As a result, he was adjudged as the best student of the university. After serving for few years as an engineer, Mr. Mittal joined the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in 1975 and was assigned to Uttar Pradesh Cadre. As an IAS officer, he has ably served in many departments and made a good name for himself by his performance.

Though a silent and sincere person since childhood, Mr. Mittal’s spiritual sprouting began in 1980. Since then, he had studied a large number of books and came in a contact with a number of personalities all over the globe. His thinking in spiritual matters is very clear and practical, which is reflected in his work also. He believes that spiritual thinking and positive thinking are the same. His mission in life is to develop positive thinking in the whole society, so that the world becomes a better place to live in. For this, he has founded a mission in the name of Kabir Peace Mission. Kabir, for him, is a symbol of humanity in true sense. Mr. Mittal has also written several books on positive thinking in English and Hindi. This book is in the same series.
